Oct. 1964, getting the 331 Cad motor ready for the ’31 Ford

The introduction to hot rodding in the late 50's developed into a lifelong love of almost everything mechanical.

Although the original goal was to design vehicles as a career, the path ended up in the graphic design field for Jon Bell.

The work experiences ranged from an apprenticeship in typography to overseeing graphic production of silkscreened glass parts for gaming equipment. The most notable position was Art Director for T-Bird Entertainment, a company that designed and produced backstage passes and other security credentials for entertainers and sports teams. A wide range of clients included; Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Buffett, SF Giants, LA Dodgers.

Many awards for graphic design and/or production included Regional and International Craftsmen's Club, Screen Printers Association, and a New York Ad Club “Cleo” in 1990.

Although graphic design was the money maker, a continued

interest in cars persisted. Over the years almost 70 vehicles have been owned, built, traded and sold. About half of those were hot rods or "fixed up". The pursuit of car design continued and on occasion someone would want a illustration of their project. One project led to another and now the combination of experience and interest have resulted in HotRodArtwork.com.
